Flora and fauna in our homestead during monsoon...

Last year, exactly this time, I was visiting India....my village home...
It was monsoon time....I had planned this time for reason..
Living in the semi-arid California for 4 years had desperately developed this longing to watch rain..
Got to see many flora and fauna, characteristic of the Eastern region of India...
Our kitchen garden drumstick tree...big fan of the leafy vegetable..

Indian rosewood .....

Peepal tree..

A cuckoo on the neem tree...

A pied mynah on a beechwood tree..

A swallowtail butterfly in our garden...

A feral cat taking a nap on out cattle shed..

Army of ants carrying dead wasp...

Maidenhair fern appearing from the wall cracks.....

How I used play with them!
Do you know, the Ginkgo tree is called the maidenhair tree, for the leaves looks just like this fern leaves..
