Sugarcane fields in river valley near my home in Sundargarh ..the tropical climate and alluvial soil provide the perfect conditions for luxuriant crop. The clumps of shoots are tied together to prevent the ravage of high wind. It is seer fun to wade your way through the rows of sugarcanes, break a mature stalk, peel the tough skin and savor the sweetness, as the juices go dripping down your elbows.
