Marigold memories......

When winter arrives, marigolds bloom in profusion...
The bright beds of floral heads and the heady aromatic fragrance give me immense joy....

I don't miss to be surrounded by the blooms for a photographic memory...

Rows of abloom marigold bushes creating a lovely bed. These brilliant colored heads are not only visual treats but also appeal to olfactory senses of any beholder. I associate these annual flowers with myriad size, shape, color and fragrance with Winter.

Large swaths of land with marigold plantations gracing the landscape. I have taken the picture from a moving train. The golden, orange and red fields of marigold beds, offer an incredible vista as you cross this interior part of West Bengal.  This floriculture crop meant for export play a major role in strengthening the state economy and providing livelihood to many.
